College Paper Review and Feedback

You wrote the paper. Now let’s make it stronger.

College writing can be frustrating—especially when you aren’t sure what your professor is actually looking for.

I provide personalized, instructor-level feedback on college papers using a comprehensive Composition I & II writing rubric.

You remain the writer. I help you become a stronger one.

Paper Review – Starting at $35

Send me your paper, assignment instructions, and your professor’s rubric if one was provided.

I’ll review your writing for:

  • Purpose, focus & thesis
  • Argument, reasoning & analysis
  • Evidence, research & source integration
  • Organization & paragraph development
  • Audience & rhetorical effectiveness
  • Style, clarity & sentence effectiveness
  • Grammar, usage, punctuation & mechanics
  • Documentation & formatting, when required

You’ll receive more than a list of corrections.

60-minute tutoring session- $45

This Isn’t a Paper-Writing Service.

I won’t write your paper for you.

I won’t replace your ideas with mine or turn your writing into something that doesn’t sound like you.

Instead, I’ll help you understand why something isn’t working and show you how to strengthen your own writing.

That’s the difference between having someone edit your paper and actually learning to write better papers.

Academic integrity matters.

You remain the author of your work.

My job is to give you the knowledge, feedback, and guidance you need to improve it.

How Your Paper Is Reviewed

Every paper is reviewed using the A.K. Walraven College Composition I & II Writing Rubric, unless your assignment provides specific requirements or your professor provides a rubric. When those materials are provided, they take priority andthe review is tailored to yourassignment.

The standard rubric evaluates:

  • Purpose, Focus & Thesis — 15%
  • Argument, Reasoning & Analysis — 20%
  • Evidence, Research & Source Integration — 15%
  • Organization & Development — 15%
  • Audience & Rhetorical Effectiveness — 10%
  • Style, Clarity & Sentence Effectiveness — 10%
  • Grammar, Usage, Punctuation & Mechanics — 10%
  • Documentation & Formatting — 5%

Total: 100%

The assignment requirements come first. The review does not require elements—such as a counterargument, specific research requirements, or a particular documentation style—unless the assignment calls for them.

Who Is Reviewing Your Paper?

I’m Amy K. Walraven, an experienced nurse, educator, writer, and college instructor.

I taught English Composition I and II at the college level and have extensive experience working with adult learners and healthcare students.

I have also tutored college-level students in writing, composition, and nursing, providing individualized support based on each student’s assignment, course requirements, and learning needs.

My education includes degrees in nursing and professional technical writing, as well as an MFA in Creative Writing.

I’ve been on both sides of the classroom—as a student and as an educator.

That means I understand how difficult college writing can be, and I understand what instructors are asking students to accomplish.

You don’t need someone to judge your paper. You need someone who can help you understand how to make it better.
